about.

I'm Taylor, creator of all things sweet.

I started my journey as a baker in 2012, not knowing where my future would take me. Growing up I always had a sweet tooth. I even got a "Sweet Tooth Award" at camp one summer when my counselor always found me sneaking away with candy. My parents were always fooled when I woke up in the wee hours of the morning sneaking a gallon of ice cream before they would awake. So I guess if I look back on my childhood growing up, it was a future I was destined for.

I have always been the artsy type. I took as many classes as I could to emerse my soul in all medias of art. I drew, painted, built things, sewed things, and imagined things in the most beautiful ways. I had a passion to create things with my own hands, that is the only thing I could imagine for my future.

I graduated high school on a high horse to become an Interior Designer. I loved everything about it, but something was missing. Not knowing a thing about cooking or baking I set off to culinary school to follow in my brothers footsteps, he is an executive chef in NYC.

Fast forward to 2015, I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with my Associates in Baking and Pastry Arts and my Bachelors in Culinary Management.

I came back to Maine after graduation and spent a few years learning as much as I could from a number of chefs in restaurants and bakeries.

In 2017 I took a leap, quit my full-time job as a pastry cook plating desserts to open Village Baking Co. I have a passion for all things sweet, so being a cake designer and a artist of baked goods was inevitably my calling.

fun facts.

GARDENING

I love to garden in my free time with my dog Harley. As often as I can I try to use my own produce and herbs in my baking.
